David Thomas Jones (1945 - 2012) bio je engleski muzičar, pevač, glumac i poslovni čovek, najbolje poznat kao član benda the Monkees , i po glumi u istoimenoj TV seriji . Džons je rođen u Mančesteru u Velikoj Britaniji, da bi sredinom šezdesetih godina prešao da živi u Ameriku. David je postao lider grupe koja se smatrala za američke Bitlse, iako se bendu priključio posle njegovog osnivanja 1965. godine, na audiciji na kojoj se pojavilo pet stotina pevača. Početkom sedamdesetih napustio ovaj rok bend, započevši solo muzičku i televizijsku karijeru, da bi se desetak godine kasnije bend ponovo okupio.`The Monkees` su 1989. godine dobili zvezdu u holivudskom Bulevaru slavnih.
