6. IZDANJE NAJPOZNATIJE KNJIGE IZ ARHITEKTURE I DIZAJNA! Što je za istoriju umetnosti Jansonova knjiga to je u oblasti dizajna interijera upravo ova knjiga. Nije slučajno da se upravo ona i naziva „biblijom dizajna interijera`. Interijeri Arhitektura Dizajn na više od 700 stranica daje detaljan hronološki pregled razvoja, glavnih karakteristika dizajna i uređenja enterijera od praistorije, preko drevnih civilizacija Egipta i antičke Grčke, pa sve do današnjih dana i moderne umetnosti. He received the B.A. degree from Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, in 1921, and the M.A. degree from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1925. In 1912, Henney had his first experience with radio via a crystal detector and a two-slide tuner. He had his first experience in publishing in Marion, Ohio, where he was a cub reporter on the anti-Harding daily paper. His radio experience continued by means of rotary spark gaps, Thordarson 1-kw transformers, and glass plate condensers in his amateur station 8ZD. He remained a radio amateur, and in 1962, he was operating W1QGU in New Hampshire and K2BH in New York. In 1923, Henney joined the technical staff of the Western Electric Company. The next five years were spent developing a radio laboratory for Doubleday Doran & Company, publishers of `Radio Broadcast.` In 1929, he published his first book, `Principles of Radio,` and in 1962, it reached the sixth edition. He became Associate Editor of `Electronics` upon its founding by the McGraw-Hill Book Company, Inc., New York, N.Y., founded `Electronics,` in 1930, and appointed Henney Associate Editor. The publisher named him Managing Editor in 1934; Editor-in-Chief in 1935; and Consulting Editor in 1946. In four languages Ganz nach dem Vorbild ihres Lehrers präsentierten auch seine Schüler der Öffentlichkeit die eigenen Entwürfe in aufwendig gestalteten Architekturpublikationen, die zum überwiegenden Teil aus Abdrucken ihrer Architekturzeichnungen bestanden. Dabei wurden diese Zeichnungen nicht einfach wie Gemälde isoliert reproduziert. Mit Hilfe von Rahmenleisten formte zum Beispiel Jan Kotera aus seiner Entwurfszeichnung einer Idealstadt am Ärmelkanal gemeinsam mit dem Layout der Buchseite eine graphische Einheit. Veduten, Embleme des britischen Königreichs und der Republik Frankreich und selbst die Beschriftung schloss er mit ein. Besondere Bedeutung bekam auch rein dekoratives, ornamentales Beiwerk wie Lorbeerkränze oder Oscar Felgels originelle Idee, seinen Entwurf einer Hafenstadt mit dem maskenhaften Antlitz von Zierfischen zu schmücken. Parallel dazu, wie sich der architektonische Stil Wagners und seiner Schüler entwickelte, verfestigte sich allmählich auch das Layout der Buchseiten zu streng symmetrischen Gebilden aus Linien und Farbflächen. Wie bei einem Villenentwurf von Oscar Felgel zu sehen, wurde der Baukörper der abgebildeten Architektur in der Zeichnung nicht mehr plastisch modelliert. An Wunibald Deiningers Entwurf der Villa Loser erkennt man, dass nun auch die Beschriftung der Zeichnung wie ein Ornament behandelt und gestaltet werden konnte. Selbst die verschiedenen Darstellungsarten einer Architekturzeichnung wurden genau durchdacht miteinander kombiniert. Ernst Lichtblau beispielsweise verflocht den Aufriss seines Gebäudes für die Forst- und Domänendirektion in Bosnien, der schon in der Strichbildung und Linienführung sehr aufwendig gestaltet ist, so mit der Beschriftung und den Grundrissdarstellungen, dass die Grundrisse beinahe einen schmückend-ornamentalen Charakter annehmen. Auch wie die Umgebung eines Bauwerks dargestellt wurde, ist bemerkenswert: Jan Kotera beispielsweise isolierte am Aufriss seines Hauses Peterek am Prager Wenzelsplatz die Fassade von den benachbarten Häusern und hinterlegte seinem Gebäude eine reine Farbfolie aus einer schwarzen Fläche, die annähernd die Traufhöhen der Nachbarhäuser andeutet. Dazu fügte er einen falschfarbenen Himmel, der in leuchtend hellem Gelb erstrahlt – ein zeichnerisches Motiv, auf das auch Karl Dorfmeister bei seinem gigantischen Projekt einer Volksoper auf dem Kahlenberg zurückgriff. Auf Marcell Kammerers Villenentwurf für Lovran scheint sich das Grün der Pflanzen im Himmel zu spiegeln. Diese besondere Farbwahl könnte durchaus auf die drucktechnischen Möglichkeiten abgestimmt gewesen sein, die es erlaubten, Abbildungen nicht ausschließlich im klassischen Schwarz-Weiß, sondern auch in Blau-Weiß, Grün- oder Orange-Weiß zu reproduzieren.
