When Miles signed to Decca, they introduced him to producer Alan Parsons in the summer of 1975 (Miles would later sing on several tracks on several albums of the Alan Parsons Project). The first song they recorded was the song `Highfly` and it was released as a single, eventually reaching #17 in the U.K., #68 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #74 in Canada. Because of the success of the single, plans were made to record a full album and recording of the album took place in November–December 1975 at Abbey Road Studios. The song `Music` was released, became an instant hit (reaching number 3 in the UK, number 88 in the United States) and is one of his most memorable songs. Ovim dvostrukim albumom se završila najuspešnija faza u karijeri britanskog klavijaturiste. Ovo je bio poslednji album objavljen za A&M etiketu, poslednji u 70-im (u kojima je sympho zvuk bio jedan od dominantnijih) i jedan od poslednjih sa kojim će Rick ući na Top 100 UK listu (sa ovim se ppeo na 25. mesto). Muztički vetrovi su počeli da duvaju u sasvim suprotnom smeru od onog kojim se Wakenman kretao tokom cele protekle decenije, i pažnja publikel se, pod jakim uticajem medija, poemrala ka vrstama muzike gde instrumentalna virtuoznost ne da nije bila cenjena, nego je smatrana nepotrebnom. Buka, dreka i pljuvanje sa bine je natureno publici kao `vrhinska umetnost`, i punk i novotalasni bendovi su sasvim potisnuli `rock dinosauruse`, kako su podsmešljivo nazivani do tada tiražni rock bendovi. Rick je pokušao da pravi neke kompromise, da skraćuje pesme, kako bi se mogle puštati na radiju, da miksuje razne žanrove, kako bi svoj zvuk učinio prijemčivijim širim masama, da posegne za hitovima klasične i jazz muzike iz sličnih razloga (Čajkovski, Grig, Geršvin), ali je rezultat svega toga - nekako nategnut, pa i nedovoljno spontan i iskren, što je i sam Wakeman kasnije priznao, naglasivši da je to `najkonfuzniji album` koji je ikad snimio. No, to važi samo ako ga poredimo sa njegoviom master-piece pločama. U odnosu na mnoge, mnoge druge slične artiste, i `Rhapsodies` je pravo blago, koje itekako treba uvrstiti u svoju kolekciju. `Akcije` Rick Wakemana su `pale` i u SFRJ, pa je ova ploča doživela samo jedan pressing, i kupci je nisu preterano slušali, pa se i danas lako nalaze dobri i odlični primerci po veoma prihvatljivoj ceni. The album marked Dylan`s return to Columbia Records after a two-album stint with Asylum Records. Dylan began recording the album in New York City in September 1974. In December, shortly before Columbia was due to release the album, Dylan abruptly re-recorded much of the material in a studio in Minneapolis. The final album contains five tracks recorded in New York and five from Minneapolis. Blood on the Tracks initially received mixed reviews, but has subsequently been acclaimed as one of Dylan`s greatest albums by both critics and fans. The songs have been linked to tensions in Dylan`s personal life, including his estrangement from his then-wife Sara. One of their children, Jakob Dylan, has described the songs as `my parents talking`. In interviews, Dylan has denied that the songs on the album are autobiographical. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts and No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart, with the single `Tangled Up in Blue` peaking at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The album remains one of Dylan`s best-selling studio releases, with a double-platinum U.S. certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2015, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. After working on the soundtrack to the film Birdy (1984), producer Daniel Lanois was invited to remain at Gabriel`s Somerset home during 1985 to work on his next solo project. Initial sessions for So consisted of Gabriel, Lanois and guitarist David Rhodes, although these grew to include a number of percussionists. Although Gabriel continued to use the pioneering Fairlight CMI digital sampling synthesizer, songs from these sessions were less experimental than his previous material. Nevertheless, Gabriel drew on various musical influences, fusing pop, soul, and art rock with elements of traditional world music, particularly African and Brazilian styles. It is Gabriel`s first non-eponymous album, So representing an `anti-title` that resulted from label pressure to properly market his music. Gabriel toured So on the This Way Up tour (1986–1987), with some songs performed at human rights and charity concerts during this period. Often considered his best and most accessible album, So was an immediate commercial success and transformed Gabriel from a cult artist into a mainstream star, becoming his best-selling solo release. It has been certified fivefold platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and triple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. The album`s lead single, `Sledgehammer`, was promoted with an innovative animated music video and achieved particular success, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and subsequently winning a record of nine MTV Video Music Awards. It was followed by four further singles, `Don`t Give Up` (a duet with Kate Bush), `Big Time`, `In Your Eyes`, and `Red Rain`. The album received positive reviews from most critics, who praised its songwriting, melodies and fusion of genres, although some retrospective reviews have criticised its overt commercialism and 1980s production sounds. So was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1987 but lost to Paul Simon`s Graceland. It has appeared in lists of the best albums of the 1980s, and Rolling Stone included the album in their 2003 and 2020 editions of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In 2000 it was voted number 82 in Colin Larkin`s All Time Top 1000 Albums.
