The APart SUB2400 is a Tandem Driven passive bandpass subwoofer. It completes your sound with an incredible deep and loud kick-bass. The cabinet is made out of MDF wood. This subwoofer has two bandpass chambers where each chamber is equipped with a 10” dual coil woofer. Together with the push-pull technology this results in a relative small cabinet with a huge output and very low distortion. Thanks to the small size of the woofers, less mass has to be moved. Therefore, the bass reproduction is a lot more “punchy” and “quicker” compared to 15” or 18” cabinets. The SUB2400 has been compared with a single 15” (150 liter) and 18” (200 liter) subwoofer and the results were astonnishing in favour of the SUB-2400! The APart SUB2400 has great power handling and an extreme transient response. This subwoofer can be driven in 4 Ohm or 16 Ohm mode. Selection is done by the big switch at the back of the subwoofer. Especially with long cable runs, the 16 ohm mode is advised. Less power is lost and the bass response will be a lot better. The 16 Ohm mode also allows you to use multiple cabinets. Together with the MASK6 or MASK8 cabinet speakers and the 3 channel amplifier (PUBDRIVE2000) you get a perfect and fail-safe sound system that is suitable for bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants, taverns, ..., Where often “dance level” music is required. Continuous Curved Cone™ First seen in Q Acoustics’ flagship Concept speaker range and now brought to the 5000 series, the Continuous Curved Cone (CCC) design addresses limitations arising from straight and flared cones. Thorough multi-disciplinary research and development aimed to blend the most desirable characteristics of both the straight cone’s bass character and the flared cone’s mid-range control. Computer modeling was used to create the CCC profile which best combined these traits. The result is a drive unit with superior dispersion, frequency and amplitude linearity. Moreover, the CCC is more resilient to modulation by standing waves within the cabinet. Better, tighter bass with more dynamic range and detail means you can be more flexible with speaker placement and still achieve fantastic results. Contemporary Baffled Cabinet Design The minimalist design of the 5040 speakers is reminiscent of the latest Concept speaker series from the brand. Baffle fronts are laminated with a layer of butyl rubber and black acrylic trim, not only providing a damping layer to suppress baffle vibrations but also creating an eye-catching contrast to the surrounding satin and wood finishes available in this series. The cabinets are constructed from 20mm MDF for the larger cabinets in the series. Baffles across all models are made with 25mm HDF for greater durability. The lightweight open-frame grille design maximises transparency and is attached using bonded trim and magnetic fixings for an attractive visual and acoustic display. The tower models also come with adjustable spikes and protective spike covers as a preventative measure against floor damage. Anodized aluminium stabilisers with top-adjustable spikes make levelling simple. Enhancement From LS50 Lineage Much of the engaging performance is thanks to the clarity of the driver array, but the port design is also crucial. Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the flare and profile of the LS50 Meta’s patented off-set flexible port is calculated to delay the onset of turbulence and the flexible port walls prevent resonances from colouring the midrange. This leads to improved clarity, with exceptional levels of depth and detail. The LS50 Meta’s extremely rigid cabinet is optimised for the best performance, with smooth curved surfaces that help radiate sound out across the baffle without any interference. The baffle itself is engineered from an injection-moulded Dough Moulding Compound (DMC) usually found in the automotive industry. Inside the cabinet, cross bracing and Constrained Layer Damping (CLD) combine to deaden internal vibrations. The result of such meticulous attention to detail is that LS50 Meta produces the lowest coloration of any speaker in its class.
