It’s a Wrap The new HTM82 D4 may be our most compact centre-channel speaker, but it shares the design DNA of its larger siblings, including the Reverse Wrap cabinet and Matrix™ bracing. The combination of the two technologies ensures a quieter, more acoustically efficient and better-sounding speaker than ever. Reverse Wrap cabinet Instead of a conventional loudspeaker box, our cabinets are made from a continuous curved section of wood, with the drive units mounted at the heart of the curvature. This stiffer, more inert structure resists mechanical resonances far better and also ensures better dispersion of sound. Continuum™ cone midrange Introduced as a huge evolutionary change for us in 2015, the Continuum cone midrange drive has swiftly become a fundamental element in every Bowers & Wilkins loudspeaker. With exceptionally low noise, it ensures outstanding resolution without colouration or masking of detail. Decoupled midrange assembly HTM82 D4 has a dedicated midrange cone using three key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum cone, Biomimetic Suspension and midrange decoupling, the latter ensuring minimal interference from the operation of the loudspeaker’s bass drivers. The result is outstanding clarity. The science of sound Innovation is at the heart of everything we do. We question, we examine, we understand and then we evolve. We use computer modelling to explore and reimagine every aspect of loudspeaker design. An icon born from The Reference Derived from The Reference, the R6 Meta hosts a suite of class-leading technological innovations to deliver exceptional acoustic performance. Decades of experience combine to create an exciting sound which sets the benchmark for future loudspeaker design. Whether you're looking for a home Hi-Fi solution or multi-channel home theatre, the R-Series reveals levels of detail that must be heard to be believed. etamaterial Absorption Technology A complex maze-like structure, each channel efficiently absorbs a specific frequency and when each channel is combined an acoustic 'black hole' is created, absorbing up to 99 percent of unwanted resonances that occur in the rear of the tweeter. You can expect to hear a more natural, pure acoustic tone. The signature KEF sound A refined 12th-generation Uni-Q driver has been implemented to work along with the MAT technology for a design that's specific to the speaker. This is combined with a re-engineered tweeter gap damper which places two rings of porous material to tame imperfections and resonances, greatly improving detail and clarity. Shadow Flare for improved clarity Designed to allow the 12th-generation Uni-Q drivers to work to their optimum, Shadow Flare is a precision-designed surface which extends the waveguide. This means it no longer has line of sight to the cabinet edges, creating a 'shadow region' where diffraction is highest. The result is an incredibly clear high-frequency sweet spot for more detailed listening. Powerful, deep lows Built with a two-part structure, the R6 Meta delivers the most articulate and powerful bass frequencies. A shallow concave aluminium skin is mounted on top of a paper cone with a unique geometry to effectively reduce resonances for a clean, pristine and deep low-end response. A uniform magnetic field is created with the onboard driver system to reduce harmonic distortion. Flexible Decoupled Chassis First used on the Blade and The Reference loudspeakers, the chassis design is employed to ensure the Uni-Q drivers dramatically reduce colouration of the sound by eliminating cabinet vibrations. By decoupling the midrange driver from the chassis, the vibrations are dissipated and transferred into heat, effectively eliminating any unwanted sound. Get the ultimate sonic experience at home With identical Uni-Q driver arrays deployed on the centre speakers and all other R-Series speakers, the R6 Meta is perfectly capable of being used in an LCR configuration. This configuration creates a consistent sound character, maintaining focus on the audio reproduction and not the equipment, making it perfect for a wide range of home-listening environments. Custom-design microfibre grille Made from multiple pieces layered together, this precision-cut grille features 1,801 cut holes to provide a stylish aesthetic to your speakers, all without interfering with the sonic quality. Perfect for matching the look of your speakers to your environment, they also feature burnished edges for a suede-like feel. Features Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) delivers optimised high-frequency response Enhanced 'sweet spot' for evenly dispersed sound with bespoke 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array Harsh high-frequency resonances are tamed with re-engineered tweeter damper Unwanted vibrations are eliminated with flexible internal chassis to decouple internal bracing from drivers Fine-tuned signal path and superior crossover design delivers signature KEF sound Match sound with visuals without interfering with sound reproduction using the specially-designed microfibre grilles Design Three-way closed box Drive Units HF: 25mm (1in.) ProAc K3 is a smaller, more affordable floor-standing loudspeaker model which joins the K6 and K8 in ProAc’s flagship K range. The K3 measurements are only slightly greater than those of the Response D30R at 42 inches high x 13 inches deep x 8 inches wide. K Drivers Featuring the same drive unit technology utilised in the other K models, K3's Kevlar drivers, from which the series derives its name, feature similar benefits to carbon fibre in that it's light and at the same time rigid. The Kevlar cones are made by the same special method as ProAc's carbon fibre coned drive units; the cone is painstakingly produced from a mould by hand, a labour intensive process taking many hours to complete. Great Sound In the past with the exception of the now discontinued Tablette Anniversary, ProAc has only utilised Kevlar for bass and lower midrange reproduction in large floor standing flagship models. Now Kevlar technology is featured in the new mid-bass driver specifically designed for this new addition to the K Series, the K3. Cones manufactured using Kevlar are light, stiff and exhibit a characteristic warmth which is considered superior to carbon fibre together with excellent bass transient and extension qualities. Open Midrange The new K3 mid-bass driver is designed to produce ProAc’s trademark open mid-range quality in a true high-end loudspeaker that incorporates the additional benefits of a phase plug thus improving detail and dispersion. Although Kevlar has proven to be an excellent cone material sonically, the Kevlar ProAc bass drivers require a different porting mechanism in order to realise their full potential. The bass is loaded by an almost invisible vent to produce a wonderfully weighty but exceptionally fast bass response. Ribbon Tweeter ProAc’s proven K Series ribbon tweeter is centrally positioned between two mid-bass drivers and the three drivers seamlessly mated via a high-quality crossover which may be split for optional bi-wiring or bi-amping. The K3 produces a wonderfully clear, open and detailed midrange, reminiscent of electrostatics with a dynamic, extended bass response thereby offering music lovers of all genres a captivating and involving listening experience. Colour Options Like ProAc's other speakers, the K3 is available in black ash, silk white, cherry, oak, walnut and mahogany or for a premium in the ebony and rosewood finishes. - Mode: Floor standing - Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms - Recommended Amps: 10-250W - Frequency Response: 25Hz-30KhZ - Sensitivity: 89dB linear (1w @1m) - Bass/mid: 2x 6.5 Kevlar cone, phase plug - Tweeter: ProAc ribbon/ light diaphragm - Alnico magnet and rear chamber damping - Crossover: Finest components - Circuit board: dedicated dual layer - Cable: Multistrand OFC - Split for optional BiWire/BiAmp - Grille: Acoustically-clear crimplene - Dimensions (HWD): 1073 x 215 X 340mm - Weight: 42kgs, pack per pair: 88Kg

At the centre of it all The centre-channel speaker is arguably the most important in home theatre – and the HTM81 D4 has an enviable array of advanced technologies to reinforce that point, including Solid Body tweeter-on-top, a decoupled Continuum™ Cone midrange drive unit and twin 200mm (8-in) Aerofoil™ bass cones. Aerofoil bass cone Our Aerofoil bass cone technology remains an outstanding solution to the conundrum of combining low mass and high stiffness in bass cones, thanks to its carbon-fibre skin and variable-profile foam core. Now, we have added the foam Anti-Resonance Plug for lower distortion and even cleaner bass. Diamond dome tweeter One of our most significant accomplishments over the past two decades, the ultra-stiff, supremely accurate Diamond dome tweeter is the perfect combination of low mass, exceptional stiffness and outstanding accuracy. 15 years after we introduced it, we haven’t found a better tweeter dome technology. Aluminium bass pods HTM81 D4 mounts two Aerofoil bass cones in twin solid aluminium bass pods, each of which is clamped into an aluminium plate fixed to the stiffest part of its curved cabinet. Formed as single pieces of metal, these stiff structures provide the perfect mechanical location for those powerful bass cones. The science of sound Innovation is at the heart of everything we do. We question, we examine, we understand and then we evolve. We use computer modelling to explore and reimagine every aspect of loudspeaker design. Since 1973, The Reference has continually set the benchmark for loudspeakers and sound reproduction. Pioneering the use of digital technologies to achieve the highest audio accuracy, every pair can be matched within 0.5dB to the laboratory-maintained reference standard. Since the first Reference speaker, KEF engineers have continued to innovate using what is possible with The Reference. Ground-breaking in its first incarnation, each subsequent iteration of The Reference has added to the world’s knowledge of the science of acoustics. Designed, engineered and handcrafted in UK Since 1961, we have been creating remarkable award-winning loudspeakers at our UK home in Maidstone, Kent. As our flagship HiFi speakers, The Reference is still being designed, engineered, and handcrafted in Maidstone today. The one standmount model in the Reference series could be the only loudspeaker you ever need. A three-way model boasting KEF’s 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array with MAT™, Reference 1 Meta is capable of delivering expansive, high-performance sound that goes way beyond what its relatively compact size would suggest was possible. Now with Metamaterial Absorption Technology The Reference has continually set the benchmark for loudspeakers since its launch in 1973. The perfect reproduction of recorded sound is what The Reference has always stood for. Pioneering the use of digital technologies to achieve the highest audio accuracy, every pair of The Reference series can be matched within half a decibel to the laboratory-maintained reference standard. Exact pair matching delivers perfect stereo reproduction, so these revolutionary speakers won acclaim for the superior acoustic precision. Hence the method became the name: The Reference. Since the first generation, The Reference has been continuously enhanced by new innovations and technological developments. In the latest evolution, The Reference incorporates our latest innovation: Metamaterial Absorption Technology1(MAT™) and continues to be the supreme expression of KEF’s philosophy, where advanced engineering meets inspired design. The Reference are loudspeakers for serious audiophiles who aspire to the perfect enjoyment of music and movies. Whether used in a traditional two-channel HiFi or a multi-channel home theatre, listeners will be able to experience the realistic, immersive sound with breath-taking dynamics, and levels of accuracy that reveal details never noticed before. A class apart The Reference range encompasses two three-way floorstanding speakers, a formidable three-way standmount speaker, and two three-way centre speakers that can be used as Left-Centre-Right (LCR)speakers. The Reference combines phenomenal high-fidelity performance with complete multi-channel versatility. And now new technological advances make The Reference range even more impressive. At the heart of TheReference range now sits a bespoke 12th generation Uni-Q with MAT driver array. This new addition truly puts The Reference range in a class of its own. Revolutionary sound absorption with MAT™ A truly revolutionary tool in the KEF acoustic armoury, Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) is a highly complex maze-like structure, where each of the intricate channels efficiently absorbs a specific frequency. When combined, the channels act as an acoustic black hole, absorbing 99% of the unwanted sound that comes from the rear of the tweeter, eliminating the resulting distortion and providing a purer, more natural acoustic performance. A result of joint development with the Acoustic Metamaterials Group, using MAT breaks completely new ground in loudspeaker design, and once again demonstrates KEF’s unrelenting passion for developing new technologies to improve your listening experience. Metamaterials are specially developed structures that use existing materials in such a way that they exhibit new, desirable properties that are simply not found in naturally occurring substances. 12th Generation Uni-Q with MAT™ delivers The 12th generation Uni-Q with MAT in The Reference is a bespoke driver array engineered to deliver pristine performance across this exceptional range of loudspeakers. It’s the result of decades of accumulated in-house knowledge and the application of cutting-edge simulation and analysis tools. The developments are many and all play a part in The Reference’s pristine performance. As a starting point, KEF engineers re-engineered the tweeter gap damper to maximise the space at the back of the tweeter for the new metamaterial absorber. Optimising the cavity shape and strategically placing two rings of porous material effectively tame the resonances and imperfections, thus greatly improving detail and clarity. A new ultra-low distortion midrange motor design uses a copper ring embedded into the motor gap to minimise inductance and variation of inductance with coil position. This lowers the midrange THD and reduces thermal compression, leading to improved efficiency. The Uni-Q driver array is fully decoupled to prevent unwanted vibrations from muddying the sound. A new flexible decoupling chassis is designed to reduce vibration and remove coloration. It ensures that any vibration generated by the mid and high-frequency motor system is not transmitted to the loudspeaker cabinet. A new driver surround is designed to allow longer excursion without causing diffraction and extending the frequency range of the mid-frequency. Plus, the contours of the dome, midrange horn and surround are all computer-optimised to ensure a perfectly smooth transition to the cabinet. KEF’s patented tangerine waveguide technology manages the airflow to recreate the wide, even spread of a natural sound field, dispersing the astonishingly pure high-frequen cy imaging throughout the room. Reference quality bass High and mid-range frequencies are only part of the story though, and The Reference is also blessed with clean, rich, highly articulate bass. That’s because The Reference’s 165mm (6.5 inch) low frequency driver perfectly complements the new 12th generation Uni-Q with MAT driver array. Smart engineering and meticulous attention to design detail enables the bass to blend seamlessly with the immaculate midrange and treble response. The Reference’s bass driver also benefits from a massive, vented magnet assembly, a large aluminium voice coil and an exceptionally light and stiff alloy cone. As a result of all these technologies volume, dynamics and power handling are superb. Engineered to be flexible The speakers in The Reference range are also welcomingly undemanding in terms of positioning, and are easy to fine-tune for your listening area by using KEF’s innovative Flexible Port Technology, which can reduce port resonance. There are two options of port tubes, allowing users to modify the sound to suit their room. Plus, the flare and profile of each port has been calculated by computational fluid dynamics to avoid turbulent air noise that might colour the sound, another part of the complex jigsaw that is The Reference’s breath-taking performance.

Product Description With the new Response DB1, ProAc has set out to produce a small speaker with a quality of sound normally associated with larger speakers, particularly in the bass response A Smaller Build Although this type of speaker can be accurate and sound better in some areas than some larger loudspeakers, the Achilles’ heel of a small loudspeaker is its bass extension and the size of the sound stage. A big loudspeaker can produce low octaves and exhibit a large sound stage, ideal for large orchestral works and high-level rock however they can dominate the room visually. Resonance Control The DB1 cabinet is slightly larger than the previous D1 model, and is made from different thicknesses of high-density MDF and utilises bituminous damping panels to control cabinet resonances. A newly designed long throw bass driver with raised spider and linear motor system has been incorporated in a rear ported cabinet. The mid/bass driver cone is manufactured from carbon mixed pulp that is then elastic coated and fitted with our ProAc acrylic pole damping phase plug. Superb Performance The new high-quality crossover has been designed to produce a flatter response at high sound levels and the tweeter is a ProAc 1” silk dome similar to that used in the highly successful ProAc Response D2. The result is superb midrange and high-frequency reproduction and in the classic ProAc tradition, low colouration and impressive detail. The new driver produces a wonderful bass quality that is both punchy, extended and in some ways, reminiscent of a larger loudspeaker. Choice of Finish The DB1 also has the type of larger sound stage normally associated with bigger cabinets. The ProAc Response DB1 comes in the real wood veneer standard finishes of cherry, mahogany, black ash & maple together with silk white and the premium veneer finishes of rosewood & ebony. Bass Loading Bass loading is achieved by side vented directional loading similar to that used in the D40, producing an extremely accurate and powerful bass response with good extension and low colouration. Carbon Fibre Cones ProAc has recently implemented the use of carbon fibre in the cones of the Response D40 and Carbon Pro 8, and Kevlar in the Tablette Anniversary and K6 models, thereby achieving levels of sound quality that were only dreamed of a few years ago. The necessary exhaustive research involved in the development of these models and the materials employed has enabled us to design cones that give excellent frequency response characteristics and the new Response D30RS is the latest model to take advantage of the acoustic excellence of carbon fibre. Crossover The crossover network employs dedicated components of the highest quality and multi-strand oxygen-free copper wiring. The classic ProAc split crossover design offers bi-wiring and bi-amping options. The D30RS, therefore, offers a similar bass loading, cone material, tweeter and crossover network to that of its larger sibling, making it an ideal choice for those who require a smaller floorstander but still demand sonic excellence. Performance Once set up using ProAc's supplied spikes, which are designed to penetrate even thick carpet and when partnered with quality electronics, the exceptional performance of the D30 can be fully realised. Flagship floorstanders in KEF's Reference Meta range, these stunning speakers will be on permanent demonstration in our showroom alongside other Reference Meta speakers EF Reference 5 Meta are the flagship floorstanding loudspeakers in the latest Reference Meta range, sitting above the Reference 1 Meta stand mount and smaller Reference 3 Meta floorstanders. For the past five decades KEF have been consistently improving and searching for the pinnacle in home speaker systems, for 2022 they have brought to the table a game changer in their flagship Reference 5 Meta. New Drivers On the Reference 5 Meta, KEF has taken a new approach to how their speakers are driven with an all new 12th generation Uni-Q driver array that includes a HF driver that is a 25mm (1”) aluminium dome with MAT which is also paired with a fantastic 125mm (5”) MF driver, which deliver a tight and punchy response which when combined with the quad 165mm (6.5”) bass units – you truly have the pinnacle of speakers at your fingertips. Metamaterial Absorption Technology Across the Reference Meta series, KEF has introduced a brand new technological advancement in MAT (Metamaterial Absorption Technology) which delivers a 99% absorption rate from the back of the driver – eliminating distortion to such a point where even the most sensitive of ear wouldn’t be able to discernibly pick it up. This technology is the next leap forward for your setup and will hold you in good stead for years if not decades to come. Across The Frequencies The Reference 5 Meta doesn’t just give you what the previous generation delivered, it takes it to a whole new dimension with a soundstage that delivers a free field (-6dB) response of 35Hz – 45kHz (short port), 32Hz – 45kHz (long port) and standard response of 40Hz – 35kHz. That means every single little nuance of audio will be given a fair hearing and chance to truly shine with the Reference 5 Meta Amplifier Matching With such an impressive cast of parts you would normally expect a speaker like this to require a serious amount of power, however on the Reference 5 Meta the power draw is only 50W to 400W, making them power efficient in your amplification setup – ensuring that they only draw what they need at the time. 40 years of excellence Innovation. 801 D4 is defined by it. In each of its incarnations over the decades, 801 has always been the most advanced loudspeaker that we know to make at that particular point in time, a showcase of all our newest technologies and most original thinking. Small wonder it has become an icon. The ultimate Matrix™ Matrix bracing uses interlocking panels to reinforce loudspeaker cabinet walls in all directions internally, reducing resonance and creating a more believable soundstage. The Matrix assembly in 801 D4 is our best yet, upgraded with extensive aluminium bracing to reinforce key stress points. Turbine™ Head The all-aluminium Turbine Head houses our Continuum™ midrange cone in a stiff and critically damped enclosure to eliminate unwanted resonances. At the same time, it’s decoupled from both the bass enclosure and the tweeter body. The result? The most realistic midrange sound yet.
