Original, made in Germany Knjizica od 8 str. knjizica 5 Cd 4/4- Compilation album by Grace Jones Released 3 December 1985 Recorded 1977–1985 Genre Disco[1]R&B[2] Length 47:48 Label Island Producer Tom MoultonChris BlackwellAlex SadkinTrevor Horn Grace Jones chronology Slave to the Rhythm (1985) Island Life (1985) Inside Story (1986) Island Life is the first greatest hits album by Jamaican singer and songwriter Grace Jones, released in December 1985, summing up the first nine years of her musical career. The album sits among Jones` best-selling works. Production and release After the major commercial success Grace Jones achieved with her comeback album Slave to the Rhythm in 1985, Island Records decided to release a best-of compilation at the end of the same year. Island Life would feature songs from most of Jones` Island Records albums: Portfolio (1977), Fame (1978), Warm Leatherette (1980), Nightclubbing (1981), Living My Life (1982), and Slave to the Rhythm (1985). No tracks from Muse (1979) were included. Some of the songs appeared in edited forms, and a remix of `Love Is the Drug` was included. No new songs were recorded for the album. Island Life consists only of previously released material, produced by Tom Moulton, Chris Blackwell, Alex Sadkin and Trevor Horn. American writer and journalist Glenn O`Brien wrote an essay for the record sleeve. The Australian LP release of the album came with a bonus 12-inch disc containing four songs: `My Jamaican Guy`, `Pull Up to the Bumper`, `On Your Knees` and `Warm Leatherette`, and the 1986 UK cassette release included three bonus tracks: `Demolition Man`, `Nipple to the Bottle` and `Grace Jones Musclemix`. In April 1996 Island Records and Universal re-released the album under the name Island Life 2. Released only in France, it featured four additional tracks: `Pars`, `Feel Up` and two versions of a 1993 single `Sex Drive`, intended for the Black Marilyn album, which remains unreleased to date.[3] This version retains the cover picture of the original album, with the only difference being the yellow-coloured background. Artwork The cover picture is one of the most famous images of Grace Jones and was created by her then-partner Jean-Paul Goude. The impossibly graceful arabesque is actually a montage of separate images, following Goude`s ideas on creating credible illusions with his cut-and-paint technique. The body position is `anatomically unlikely`.[4] The picture was originally published in New York magazine in 1978 and subsequently used in the music video for Jones` hit single `La Vie en rose`. It has been since described as `one of pop culture`s most famous photographs`.[5] Also included in the album sleeve are other iconic images of Jones, among them the `twins` photograph, Grace Jones in a cage and wearing a `maternity` dress. The cover picture was featured in Michael Ochs` 1996 book 1000 Record Covers[6] and has been often imitated in works by other artists.[7] The image was also referenced in Nicki Minaj`s 2011 music video for `Stupid Hoe`, with Minaj mimicking the pose.[8] Singles As no new material was recorded for Island Life, the album was promoted by re-releases of singles. `Pull Up to the Bumper` was remixed and released at the end of 1985. The song, which had peaked at number 53 in the UK when released originally in 1981, climbed to number 12 and became one of Jones` greatest hits in the UK. A special `Musclemix` version of the song was also released, which was a megamix of `Pull Up to the Bumper` and other hits. `Love Is the Drug` was released as the second single in early 1986, remixed by Eric Thorngren (on 7`). A music video was produced and the single, which had not charted upon its original 1980 release, entered charts in the UK, Ireland and Germany. A remixed version of `Love Is the Drug` by Paul `Groucho` Smykle was also released on 12`, and the single re-entered singles chart in the UK. A megamix titled `Re-Mix Re-Mask` was also released on 12`, backed with the Smykle remix of `Private Life`. Track listing All tracks produced by Chris Blackwell and Alex Sadkin, except for `La Vie en rose`, `I Need a Man` and `Do or Die`, produced by Tom Moulton, `Slave to the Rhythm`, produced by Trevor Horn with assistance from Stephen Lipson, and `Sex Drive` on Island Life 2, produced by Mark Pistel and Philip Steir. It was released by Atlantic Records on 31 October 1994.[2] The long-awaited reunion between Jimmy Page and Robert Plant occurred on a 90-minute `UnLedded` MTV project, recorded in Morocco, Wales, and London. It was not a reunion of Led Zeppelin, however, as former bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones was not present. In fact, Jones was not even told about the reunion by his former bandmates. He later commented that he was unhappy about Plant and Page naming the album after `No Quarter`, a Led Zeppelin song which was largely his work. In addition to acoustic renditions, the album features a reworking of Led Zeppelin songs featuring a Moroccan string band and Egyptian orchestra supplementing a core group of rock and roll musicians, along with four Middle-Eastern and Moroccan-influenced songs: `City Don`t Cry`, `Yallah` (or `The Truth Explodes`), `Wonderful One`, and `Wah Wah`. Several years later, Plant reflected on the collaboration very positively: The will and the eagerness with Unledded were fantastic and [Page] was really creative. Jimmy and I went in a room and it was back. His riffs were spectacular. To take it as far as we did, and the tour we did – it`s one of the most ambitious and mind-altering experiences.[3] Legacy In July 2014, Guitar World placed No Quarter on their `Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994` list.[4] Track listing All tracks are written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, except where noted. (1989) Put Me in Your Mix (1991) he Man Is Back! is the self-produced seventeenth album by American R&B singer Barry White, which was released in 1989 on A&M Records. The first album of White`s comeback phase, the album featured White incorporating a more contemporary production style while retaining the essential elements of his trademark sound, but the album was only a moderate seller, peaking at #22 on the R&B chart, only slightly higher than the disappointing showing of his A&M debut, The Right Night & Barry White. Critical reaction is generally positive, with the album being classed as a worthwhile and enjoyable, if not groundbreaking, addition to White`s catalogue. Original, made in France Knjizica od 20 str. Odlicno ocuvano knjizica 5 Cd 5 Studio album by Lionel Richie Released August 5, 1986 Recorded 1985–1986 Studio Ocean Way (Hollywood)Hitsville U.S.A. (Los Angeles)Tarpan (San Rafael, California)Bear Creek (Woodinville, Washington)The Music Mill (Nashville) Genre Pop, R&B Length 46:27 Label Motown Producer Lionel Richie, James Anthony Carmichael, Narada Michael Walden Lionel Richie chronology Can`t Slow Down (1983) Dancing on the Ceiling (1986) Back to Front (1992) Dancing on the Ceiling is the third solo studio album by American singer Lionel Richie, released on August 5, 1986.[2] The album was originally to be titled Say You, Say Me, after the Academy Award-winning track of the same name, but it was renamed to a different track`s title after Richie rewrote several songs on the album. The album was released to generally positive reviews and it made No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 4 million copies. The album was Richie’s second with session guitarist Carlos Rios. Following this album`s release, Richie went on a long hiatus, not releasing an album of entirely new material for another ten years. Background and recording Lionel Richie had risen to prominence as a member of the Commodores during the late 1970s, but after tensions arose in the band, he left in 1982. His first two solo albums, Lionel Richie (1982) and Can`t Slow Down (1983), were runaway successes: Lionel Richie sold 4 million copies, while Can`t Slow Down sold 10 million copies, and won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.[3] Recording of the songs later used on Dancing on the Ceiling began in 1985. The track `Say You, Say Me` was used in that year`s film White Nights for which it had won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.[4] Work on the album was done while Richie was finalizing his work with `We Are the World`.[5] During early production, the album was intended to be titled Say You, Say Me[3] and released in December 1985.[5] However, Richie found that he did not `want to do those songs` owing to the social conditions he saw, and as such he began rewriting it `to express what [he] felt the world was boxing itself into`.[5] Ultimately, the album`s title was changed to Dancing on the Ceiling, as the titular song was Richie`s next single.[3] Recording for the album took over a year and a half,[6] and Richie later stated that he tried to include a mixture of sounds.[5] Reception Professional ratings Review scores Source Rating AllMusic [7] The Village Voice B+[8] The Washington Post (mixed)[9] Dancing on the Ceiling has generally received positive reviews. Anthony Decurtis, reviewing in Rolling Stone, gave the album a positive review, writing that it `sets an impressive standard for mainstream pop craft`, encompassing Richie`s `finest qualities`.[10] He especially praised the track `Say You, Say Me`, but found `Ballerina Girl` a `virtual anthology of Richie`s worst saccharine excesses`.[10] Los Angeles Times critic Robert Hilburn found that `We Are the World` had left Richie `with a deeper sense of social purpose, and his attempts to infuse that sense into his traditional approach brings a tension to the new album that makes Dancing on the Ceiling his most satisfying collection.`[11] Music critic Robert Christgau of The Village Voice ranked the album a B+. He found that it provided `lulling, almost mantralike entertainment` with `a knack for tune that puts [Richie] over the fine line between lulling and boring`. His criticism centered on `Ballerina` for its mawkishness and lack of interest in some of the faster songs.[8] Meanwhile, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic retrospectively gave Dancing on the Ceiling four out of five stars, summarizing that, overall, the album was `a solid, enjoyable affair`. He considered, however, it a `comedown` after Richie`s previous albums, with its songs generally longer than necessary and the lyrics mixing `silliness ... and sappiness`.[7] Chart performance Dancing on the Ceiling was released on August 5, 1986.[5] The album sold 4 million copies in the US[3] and it became the first album to be simultaneously certified gold, platinum, double platinum, and triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America since the institution established double platinum in 1984.[12] In South Africa initial shipments were 60,000 prerelease units.[13] To promote the album Richie went on an Outrageous 40-city concert tour, entitled `Outrageous`. The first concert was in Phoenix, Arizona.[6] Dancing on the Ceiling peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 200. The title track was the second biggest single from the album, reaching No. 2 in the US and No. 7 in the UK Singles Chart, falling behind `Say You, Say Me``s earlier performance. Other Top 10 singles from the album include `Love Will Conquer All` (US No. 9, UK No. 45) and `Ballerina Girl` (US No. 7, UK No. 17). Meanwhile, `Deep River Woman` reached No. 10 on Billboard`s Hot Country Singles chart.[14] Legacy Following the success of Dancing on the Ceiling, Richie withdrew almost entirely from the music industry for six years, a move which Steve Huey of AllMusic suggests was `quitting while he was ahead`.[3] He released a compilation album – with some new material – entitled Back to Front in 1992, with his first all-new release, Louder Than Words, following in 1996. As of 2013, none of his successive albums have been as successful as Lionel Richie, Can`t Slow Down, and Dancing on the Ceiling.[3] A remastered edition of Dancing on the Ceiling was released in 2003, featuring four bonus tracks. Odlicno ocuvano Twentieth-Century Blues: The Songs of Noël Coward is a 1998 Noël Coward tribute album curated by Neil Tennant, who invited prominent artists of the day to reinterpret Noël Coward’s songs for the late 20th century. Profits from the albums sale were donated to the Red Hot AIDS Charitable Trust. The album yielded the double A-sided single `Someday I`ll Find You` / `I`ve Been to a Marvellous Party`, which reached number 28 in the UK Singles Chart. A Twentieth-Century Blues DVD was also released. Some altercations occurred during the recording of the album. Black Grape were originally meant to record `Mad Dogs and Englishmen`, but the band withdrew due to a conflict between members; Space recorded the song instead. In addition, the final song recorded, Damon Albarn and Michael Nyman`s version of `London Pride`, was nearly rejected due to being, reportedly, almost unrecognisable in its original version. Tennant ordered the song to be kept, though Albarn had already agreed to make changes by that time.[1] Suede were asked to release their version of `Poor Little Rich Girl` as a single but declined in order to focus on preparing their next album, Head Music.[2] Various ‎– Twentieth Century Blues - The Songs Of Noël Coward Label: EMI United Kingdom ‎– 7243 49463127, EMI United Kingdom ‎– 494 6312 Series: The Red Hot Organization – Format: CD, Compilation Country: Europe Released: 06 Sep 1998 Genre: Electronic, Rock, Pop Style: Ballad, Chanson, Downtempo, Synth-pop, Vocal TracklistHide Credits 1 –No Artist Introduction Contractor [Orchestral Contractor] – Isobel Griffiths Producer – David Hartley* Vocals – Neil Tennant 1:07 2 –Texas Parisian Pierrot Engineer – Kenny MacDonald Performer [The Band] – Ally McErlaine, Eddie Campbell, Johnny McElhone, Richard Hynd, Sharleen Spiteri Producer – Johnny McElhone 3:39 3 –The Divine Comedy I`ve Been To A Marvellous Party Piano – Joby Talbot Programmed By, Electronics [Electronica] – Steve Hilton* Vocals – Neil Hannon 3:39 4 –Paul McCartney A Room With A View Engineer – Eduardo Pequeño Featuring – Slick Willie Guitar Performer [Band] – Mellow T. Ltd Sir Noël Peirce Coward (16 December 1899 – 26 March 1973) was an English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer, known for his wit, flamboyance, and what Time magazine called `a sense of personal style, a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise`.[1] Coward attended a dance academy in London as a child, making his professional stage début at the age of eleven. As a teenager he was introduced into the high society in which most of his plays would be set. Coward achieved enduring success as a playwright, publishing more than 50 plays from his teens onwards. Many of his works, such as Hay Fever, Private Lives, Design for Living, Present Laughter and Blithe Spirit, have remained in the regular theatre repertoire. He composed hundreds of songs, in addition to well over a dozen musical theatre works (including the operetta Bitter Sweet and comic revues), screenplays, poetry, several volumes of short stories, the novel Pomp and Circumstance, and a three-volume autobiography. Coward`s stage and film acting and directing career spanned six decades, during which he starred in many of his own works, as well as those of others. At the outbreak of the Second World War Coward volunteered for war work, running the British propaganda office in Paris. He also worked with the Secret Service, seeking to use his influence to persuade the American public and government to help Britain. Coward won an Academy Honorary Award in 1943 for his naval film drama In Which We Serve and was knighted in 1969. In the 1950s he achieved fresh success as a cabaret performer, performing his own songs, such as `Mad Dogs and Englishmen`, `London Pride` and `I Went to a Marvellous Party`. Coward`s plays and songs achieved new popularity in the 1960s and 1970s, and his work and style continue to influence popular culture. He did not publicly acknowledge his homosexuality, but it was discussed candidly after his death by biographers including Graham Payn, his long-time partner, and in Coward`s diaries and letters, published posthumously. The former Albery Theatre (originally the New Theatre) in London was renamed the Noël Coward Theatre in his honour in 2006.

Original, made in EU Knjizica od 16 str. Odlicno ocuvano Omot 5 Cd 5- This Is Where I Came In is the twenty-second and final studio album by the English pop group the Bee Gees. It was released on 24 April 2001 by Polydor in the UK and Universal in the US,[1] just less than two years before Maurice Gibb`s unexpected death from a cardiac arrest before surgery to repair a twisted intestine.[2] It is the only album of all-new material released by them on the Universal Music label (which had acquired the rights to the group`s releases on Polydor Records when they bought that label`s parent PolyGram). The album peaked at No. 6 in the UK, while the single, `This Is Where I Came In`, reached No. 18. In the US, the album peaked at No. 16. The group appeared on the A&E concert series Live by Request in April 2001 to promote the new album. The brothers saw the album as a return to the original Bee Gees formula as well as a new beginning.[3] The album marked the fifth decade of recording for the band.[3] It was one of the first Bee Gees albums to be re-released on Reprise Records in 2006, when the brothers regained the rights to all of their recordin Background The album features main vocals from all three of the brothers, and employs a variety of musical styles.[3] `This Is Where I Came In` recalls the rock theme more commonly found on 1960s Bee Gees songs.[3] `She Keeps on Coming` and `Voice in the Wilderness` have strong rock themes, while `Sacred Trust`, `Just in Case` and `Wedding Day` continue the Bee Gees` trend for love songs. Maurice plays the Epiphone guitar gifted to him by John Lennon on She Keeps On Coming[4] Two of Robin`s songs, `Embrace` and `Promise The Earth` are Europop dance songs, while Barry`s `Technicolor Dreams` is an exception to the rule, as it is an homage to the typical 1930s Tin Pan Alley melody. Maurice Gibb provides lead vocals for two songs, `Man in the Middle` and `Walking on Air`.[3] In the United Kingdom, two bonus tracks were published, `Just in Case` and `Promise the Earth` as well as other countries issued the album with 14 tracks.[1] Recording One song in the album, `Sacred Trust` was recorded in early 1998 in Miami Beach.[5] Around 1999, the Bee Gees recorded `I Will Be There` but only as a demo as they sent it to Tina Turner and she recorded it for her album Twenty Four Seven that same year. Maurice Gibb was busy producing songs for the band Luna Park. Also in 1999, three new Barry Gibb compositions `Technicolor Dreams`, `Loose Talk Costs Lives` and `Voice in the Wilderness` were recorded as well as four new Maurice Gibb compositions, but only `Walking on Air` and `Man in the Middle` were released. Also in 1999, the new Robin Gibb composition, `Embrace` was recorded. In October that year, the group recorded `Wedding Day`.[6] The next year 2000, the group recorded five more songs including the title track, `This Is Where I Came In`.[7 Personnel Bee Gees Barry Gibb – vocals, guitar, production Robin Gibb – vocals, production Maurice Gibb – keyboards, guitar, vocals, production Additional personnel Alan Kendall – lead guitar Matt Bonelli – bass guitar on 4, 7 & 12, additional bass on 9 George `Chocolate` Perry – bass guitar (tracks 1–3, 9, 11 & 13) Ben Stivers – keyboards, piano on track 7, organ on track 10 Steve Rucker – drums Peter-John Vettese – programming, backing vocals, production on tracks 6, 10 and 14 Robbie McIntosh – guitar on track 6 Neil Bonsanti – clarinet on track 7 Joe Barati – trombone Tim Barnes – viola Jason Carder – trumpet Hui Fang Chen – violin David Cole – cello Gustavo Correa – violin Dwayne Dixon – French horn Orlando Forte – violin Ken Faulk – trumpet Chris Glansdorp – cello Jim Hacker – piccolo trumpet Jon Hutchinson – trombone Eric Kerley – French horn John Knicker – trombone Mel Mei Luo – violin Cheryl Naberhaus – French horn Alfredo Olivia – violin, concert master Chauncey Patterson – viola Mariusz Wojtowics – violin
